Nuga Nuga Station

At about 0900 this morning RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue received a call saying that a 34 year old man had suffered head injuries following a fall from a horse.

The man had been riding at Nuga Nuga station, 130 miles south west of Rockhampton when he was thrown from the horse, with the horse landing on him.

Ambulance crews were dispatched to the station as well as the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue aircraft, as the full extent of the mans injuries were not known at that point.

Upon arriving at the scene the man was assessed as having suspected spinal and internal abdominal injuries and was flown back to Rockhampton for a CT scan and further tests.
