Fishing accident - Bell Cay

The Crew were called out to Bell Cay, approximately 200km N/NE off the coast of Yeppoon where a 48 year old man from NSW had slipped and fallen while on a chartered fishing expedition.

He had sustained serious shoulder damage and a possible broken clavicle.

CHRS were alerted and organised to rendezvous with the charter vessel at Bell Cay where a patient transfer took place and the man’s injuries were more closely assessed by James McManus, the on-duty Intensive Care Paramedic.

The patient was given pain relief and transported back to Rockhampton for further treatment.
