Facing Island
Rescue 300 was tasked for a beacon search, by AUSSAR, at Facing Island. The helicopter located the beacon visually and by aircraft homing device.
The beacon was located on the eastern side of Facing Island. The Gladstone Water Police were relayed the position and were guided into the area by Rescue 300.
The Water Police positively identified a vessel which had run aground and the crew person had set off his 406 EPIRB allowing the rescue teams to easily locate the vessel. The Water Police then continued the search on land and 1 male was rescued with no injuries.
