The sky's the limit for new fundraiser

RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service announced the appointment of Debra Drinan as the new Fundraising Coordinator & Business Development Officer taking on the challenge of raising the much needed target of $1 million over the next twelve months.

Chief Executive Officer Kay Becker said "We are pleased to welcome Debra to the team and believe that her broad marketing background together with local knowledge will help boost our profile in the community and maintain our life saving operation."

With an average of 365 call outs per year, the rescue service is often the only viable option in a life or death situation and has saved many lives. Debra is looking forward to the challenge and is keen to engage with local community groups and businesses to promote this vital service for Central Queenslanders.

"The cost of operating the service continually increases and we have to be proactive in the community to raise the funds needed annually. This year's calendar is packed with fundraising activities and we ask the members of the community to get involved and support their local helicopter rescue service by providing a donations, fundraising or by simply asking their employer to join our payroll deduction scheme which allows employees to support the service by donating through their pay," said Debra Drinan.
