Duke Islands Group Rescue
The RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue service received a call at 11am this morning, concerning 3 missing fishermen.
The 3 fishermen had left for the Duke Islands group yesterday and were expected back 4pm yesterday afternoon. After failing to return, concerned relatives raised the alarm with the Yeppoon Water Police. The Water Police then contacted the Rescue Helicopter and Coast Guard and coordinated the search for the men.
The men were successfully located south of Marble Island at about 12:45pm after having suffered mechanical problems with their vessel.
The men were picked up by the Coast Guard and taken back to Stanage Bay with their vessel in tow.
