Annual Appeal for Rescue Chopper
Kay Becker, Executive Officer of RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue announced today that the Service had launched their Annual Appeal for 2009 to help raise $1 Million needed to supplement the State Government and sponsorship funding for the service.
"We have had tremendous support from the community over the years and we are once again asking for people to support our life saving service" said Ms Becker.
"On average we are called to a task once a day throughout the year. Tasks can range from motor vehicle, rural and mining accidents to rescues at sea. We are also regularly requested to undertake inter-hospital transfers for people of all ages including day old babies when necessary."
"Our value to the community continues to grow with the population in the area and the increasing business and mining developments in the region."
Letters and fliers are currently being mailed to over 12,000 donors in the region. Anyone wishing to contribute to the annual appeal can phone 4922 9093.
